Senorita beads are named after the beautiful women, one might find by the sea on a sunny island. The colours are a mixture of brown, a fleck of gold, white, turquoise, aqua and a bright cobalt blue. They remind me of the tiny, bright, colourful pebbles that you sometimes find on the shore.

I create all the polymer clay beads I use by hand. Creating polymer clay beads is quite a long process. These lentil beads use a millefiori technique, named after the glass technique. I cover small, hand rolled bead shapes, in thin slices of cane, that have been made from several different clay sausages, that have been moulded together, and then squeezed to reduce them in size, to create a tiny intricate pattern. The thin slices are moulded around the outside of the bead, until smooth. Another cane was then made using discs of clay and an extruder tool. The extruder creates a cane of coloured rings. Slices of these coloured rings were then layered over the patterned bead, and again moulded until smooth. The beads are hand pierced, and then cured, before being hand sanded, and painted with several coats of varnish, to make them as shiny and smooth as pebbles.

Due to the handmade nature of the beads, no two will ever be the same, they are quite unique.
