Limited Palette Watercolours
Watercolour ink and watercolour paint illustrations using a limited amount of colour.
I love great characters, whether they are created by someone else (such as Hermione Granger), or created from my own imagination (like sleepy Igor and the mischievous techie goblin). Some of the characters (like that slightly shocked looking troll) even materialise with their own story ideas.
I love to draw and paint anthropomorphic animals, it creates so much opportunity for the imagination to run wild.
Women Can Project
This project began after two commissions, the ballerina (for a young girl's bedroom), and the lacrosse player (for a 21st birthday present), it piqued my interest in other activities that girls and women might be interested in.
People sometimes are perplexed when they see the Bearded Fairy, they often ask why? I often reply, 'why not?'. The only person has who never asked why, but simply accepts the Bearded Fairy as she is, is my friend's little boy - I think that says a lot about children.
A collection of sketchbook collages featuring the cute, the quirky and the strange (plus the exploration of slightly more adult themes). Created spontaneously, often without any planning, using a variety of media.
Sketchbook Collages - Christmas
A selection of Christmas themed sketchbook collages, including a series of five based around three mischievous elves.
Zombie Menagerie Collages
When people think of zombies they often think of horrible monsters attacking people, and that is often what they are, but when I try to create monsters they end up looking pretty adorable.
These collages are created using paper (and the occasional bit of cocktail stick, wire and felt, on a fabric background).
All the animal zombies have their own character or narrative, some simply made-up, some based around stories and songs.
